It all began with a vision—a dream to create an educational sanctuary that would not only impart knowledge but also foster holistic growth in every student who walked through its doors. Tura Christian College is not just an institution; it is a community initiative brought to life by the Garo Baptist Association No. IV under the Garo Baptist Convention (ABDK) to produce conscientious educated youth who would significantly contribute towards the growth and prosperity of the society. The college was established in July 2018, which aims at fostering academic and career success through the development of critical thinking, effective communication, creativity and cultural awareness in a safe, accessible and affordable learning environment.
Tura Christian College is affiliated to North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. The Government of Meghalaya has extended Adhoc grant-in-aid under People’s College Scheme in 2021. The College is registered under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act XXI of 1983 (No. TSR.1/Pt-1/2067 of 2017).
Currently, the college offers undergraduate programs in Arts and Commerce. Additionally, Tura Christian College is the only institution in the entire Garo Hills region to offer Anthropology as a subject. Although only undergraduate courses are available at present, the college is committed to upgrading its academic offerings by introducing postgraduate courses in the near future.
Embracing the Future with Confidence, Tura Christian College is currently in the process of establishing its permanent campus at Rongbakgre, South West Garo Hills, a move that will further enhance its infrastructure and facilities to better serve its growing student population. Our Motto “Begin Well, Finish Well” captures the essence of our spirit. The college is striving hard to make best possible efforts to inculcate strong values combining with academics and extra -curricular activities. We are unconditionally committed to providing the best possible education to our students. While academic excellence is our target the college is also dedicated to enhance the students in life, groom them to face the challenges and be socially responsible citizen of the country. Our committed and capable management team of educators become the diving force in the development of the college.
